Thanks for posting the Nick Kristof link to Melinda Gates. Unfortunately the only comments that are being published are those slavishly grateful for the Gates donations.
I questioned whether pouring funds into the trough of medical research was as much bang for the buck as, say, standing up the backbone of a compulsory, free education system in a single Bangladeshi district?
Obviously we should be grateful for the Gate's gifts to science and not wonder whether the $50 million spent on semi-synthetic artemisinin was will have any operational impact on the ground.

PLEASE give yourself a name (you can click on Name/URL below), rather than just "Anonymous"; it makes it easier to keep track of who is saying what. Replying to comments by 10 different anonymouses is just confusing.
